Announcing #FredFridays! #TGIFred! And a mega giveaway of 10 different picture books!

During the month of May, Peter Pauper Press will be hosting FRED FRIDAYS, a series of weekly reviews and giveaways around the web in honor of our newest picture book release, Fred, by Kaila Eunhye Seo. We hope you’ll join us for this fun, month-long celebration of TGIF – Thank Goodness It’s FRED

What (and who!) is Fred? Fred, the debut picture book from the very talented Kaila Eunhye Seo, tells the story of a young boy whose world is filled with fantastical friends that make his day so much fun he hardly notices that no one else can see them. However, one day Fred goes off to school and things start to change. As Fred grows up, his childhood friends slowly fade away and seem to disappear, taking some of life's sparkle with them. However, a chance meeting with a young girl reminds him — and the reader — that magic and wonder never really disappear.

Each Friday, bloggers will post their reviews of Fred along with a giveaway for a finished copy of the book. For the latest posts, follow along on Twitter at #FredFriday, #TGIFred, and @PeterPauperPres.

Peter Pauper is also hosting a MEGA FRED FRIDAY GIVEAWAY from May 1st – May 29th for a COMPLETE SET of all TEN of our critically acclaimed picture books: Fred by Kaila Eunhye Seo, and EARLY COPY of All the Lost Things by Kelly Canby, Elephantastic by Michael Engler, The Zoo Is Closed Today! by Evelyn Beilenson, Simpson’s Sheep Won’t Go to Sleep! by Bruce Arant, Hank Finds an Egg by Rebecca Dudley, Hank Has a Dream by Rebecca Dudley, Celia by Cristelle Vallat, Not the Quitting Kind by Sarra J. Roth, and Digby Differs by Miriam Koch!

“Celia” included in USBBY-recommended list of “outstanding international literature”

School Library Journal has reported that the United States Board on Books for Young People (USBBY) has released its 2015 Outstanding International Books list. We are very proud to announce that PPP picture book Celia, written by Christelle Vallat and illustrated by Stephanie Augusseau, has been included!

The USBBY says its Outstanding International Books committee "is charged with selecting international books that are deemed most outstanding of those published during the calendar year." Criteria include artistic and literary merit, originality and creativity, books that introduce American readers to outstanding authors and illustrators from other countries, and books that help U.S. children see the world from other points of view.

Find out more, and find Celia on a USBBY bookmark here!
